ABOUT PVLSE LAB

Original sound is the starting point.

PVLSE LAB is an independent Canadian audio technology company developing original audio plugins, effects, and creative sound tools. We explore new sonic identities and build technology around the musical possibilities they inspire.

ZAP + EVOLVE plugin open inside a DAW session on a studio monitor, with a keyboard and audio interface on the desk.

Behind PVLSE LAB

My background is in audio engineering and production. Over time, I grew tired of reaching for digital recreations of the same legendary gear. I wanted to explore sounds with an identity of their own.

That desire became the starting point for PVLSE LAB. Instead of beginning with a piece of vintage equipment to recreate, the work begins with a musical idea: how an effect could respond to playing, how a sound could evolve, or where an unfamiliar texture might lead.

PVLSE LAB is founder-led. I guide the musical direction, evaluate the sound through listening, and make the final creative and product decisions.

From an idea to a product

ZAP + EVOLVE is the first product taking shape at PVLSE LAB. Its product design, visual identity, and landing-page work have already given that exploration a concrete form.

The approach connects product and interface design with sound research, development, testing, and listening. A product’s appearance and the way musicians interact with it are both part of the experience.

What guides the work

01

Original Sound

Develop a distinct sonic identity, with a musical reason to exist.

02

Intuitive Interaction

Make controls understandable and responsive, so exploration happens through playing and listening.

03

Purposeful Tools

Let a clear musical purpose guide the features, workflow, and decisions behind each product.

Beyond the first product

ZAP + EVOLVE is just the beginning. PVLSE LAB aims to explore original audio plugins, effects, and creative sound tools across different instruments and production workflows, each with its own sonic identity and musical purpose.

Each product will bring its own questions and experiments. What we learn through development, listening, and customer feedback will inform how existing tools evolve and what we explore next.
